Student Life

Songs, stories, gardening, festivals and plenty of time outdoors.

A day at school

Every class follows a gentle routine that children come to trust. Exact timings differ by class, and the school office will share your child's timetable. A typical morning looks like this:

  1. Welcome and free play as children arrive
  2. Circle time with a prayer or song, the day's weather and a story
  3. Learning activities in small groups (language, numbers, themes)
  4. Snack time, hand washing and a short rest
  5. Outdoor or movement play
  6. Art, music or sensory activity
  7. Story, goodbye song and going home

Celebrations through the year

Children enjoy and learn about our festivals and national days together. These usually include Pongal, Diwali, Christmas, Independence Day, Republic Day, Children's Day, Teachers' Day and Annual Day, along with theme days such as colour day, fruit day and fancy dress. The school calendar on this website lists the dates.

Outdoor play

Fresh air and movement are part of every day. Children run, climb, balance and play ball games with a teacher always close by.

Health, safety and care

  • Children are never left unsupervised
  • Pick-up is only by the people parents have named to the school
  • Clean drinking water and regular hand washing
  • First aid is given by staff, and parents are informed straight away if a child is unwell or hurt
  • Please keep sick children at home so that others stay well

Snacks and lunch

Parents send a healthy snack or lunch from home. We encourage fruit, idli, upma, chapati or sandwiches and ask families to avoid chocolates, packaged chips and sugary drinks.
