About Us

13 years in Madipakkam, about 150 children every year, and a warm, safe first school where learning feels like play.

Who we are

For 13 years, Kidzee Madipakkam has been a part of the Madipakkam community in Chennai. On average, about 150 children learn with us every year. Everything we do is built around one idea: small children learn best when they are happy, safe and busy with things that interest them. We look after children from their first days away from home through to the year before primary school.

What we believe

  • Play is how young children learn. Building, pouring, singing and pretending are real work for a three-year-old.
  • Every child is different. Some talk early, some climb early, some watch quietly first. We follow each child's pace.
  • Feeling secure comes first. A child who feels loved and safe is ready to learn.
  • Parents and teachers are partners. You know your child best, and we see them with friends every day.

How children learn here

Our days mix quiet and lively activities so that no child sits for long. A typical week includes:

  • Stories, rhymes and songs that build speech and listening
  • Sounds and letters introduced through games, then early reading and writing
  • Counting, shapes, sorting and patterns using real objects
  • Art, craft, music and movement every day
  • Sand, water and sensory play to build fine and gross motor skills
  • Circle time to practise sharing, taking turns and speaking up
  • Time outdoors to run, climb and notice the world

Our teachers

Our teachers are trained to work with young children and are chosen for their patience and warmth. Classes are kept small enough that every child gets attention, and teachers write regular notes on how each child is doing.

Working with parents

You are always welcome to talk to us. Parents sign in to their own login to see their child's progress, attendance, fees, the class diary, homework and notices, and we hold parent-teacher meetings during the year. If something worries you, tell us early by speaking to your child's teacher or the school office.

Values we teach

Kindness, honesty, respect for elders, caring for the environment and a love of our own culture and festivals sit alongside letters and numbers every day.
